Jon Holzfaster, a farmer in Paxton, Neb., serves on the Corn Board of the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA), a grower-led trade association with offices in St. Louis and Washington.

 

Holzfaster farms corn, soybeans, popcorn, wheat and alfalfa in Perkins County, Neb. where he also runs a cattle finishing operation. He has been a farmer for 26 years and has been active in his state corn growers association since 2000.

 

On the national level, Holzfaster serves on NCGA’s CornPAC and on the organization’s NASCAR Advisory Committee. Previously, he has chaired NCGA’s Bylaws Committee and served as the Corn Board’s liaison to the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. He also has served on the Ethanol Committee, which he chaired in 2010, for nine years.

 

Holzfaster served as chairman of the Nebraska Corn Board from 2007 through 2009. Prior to that, he served as both secretary-treasurer and vice-chairman.

 

Holzfaster earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural economics from the University of Nebraska.

 

Founded in 1957, the National Corn Growers Association represents approximately 35,000 dues-paying corn growers and the interests of more than 300,000 farmers who contribute through corn checkoff programs in their states. NCGA and its 48 affiliated state associations and checkoff organizations work together to help protect and advance corn growers’ interests.
