Keith Alverson, of Chester, S.D., serves as a member of the Corn Board of the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA), a farmer-led trade association with offices in St. Louis and Washington.
Alverson and his wife, Kari, operate a sixth-generation grain farm with his parents, aunt and uncle, growing 2,600 acres of corn and soybeans.
Alverson serves on NCGA’s Finance Committee and as the organization’s liaison to the 25 x 25 Dialogue. A 2009 graduate of the association’s Leadership at Its Best program, he has served as chair and vice-chair of NCGA’s Ethanol Committee.
Alverson served on the state level as the vice president of the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council, and the secretary/treasurer of the South Dakota Corn Growers Association.
Founded in 1957, the National Corn Growers Association represents approximately 35,000 dues-paying corn growers and the interests of more than 300,000 farmers who contribute through corn checkoff programs in their states. NCGA and its 48 affiliated state associations and checkoff organizations work together to help protect and advance corn growers’ interests.
