Guy Davenport
Board Liaison to PSATeam
Guy Davenport, of Creswell, N.C., serves as a member of the Corn Board of the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA), a farmer-directed trade association with offices in St. Louis and Washington.
Davenport and his family raise corn, soybeans, wheat, cotton and produce. He also owns Newland Commodities, a grain dealership.
Currently, Davenport serves as the Corn Board liaison to the NCGA Production and Stewardship Action Team. Formerly, he served on the Corn Board’s Finance Committee, on NCGA’s CornPAC and as board liaison to the National Chicken Council. He has also held positions on NCGA’s Grower Services Action Team, Association Relations Committee and the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council.
Davenport has served as president and is currently serving as a board member for the Corn Growers Association of North Carolina. He is also the North Carolina representative to the U.S. Grains Council and is currently serving on USGC's Asia Advisory Team.
Founded in 1957, the National Corn Growers Association represents approximately 35,000 dues-paying corn growers and the interests of more than 300,000 farmers who contribute through corn checkoff programs in their states. NCGA and its 48 affiliated state associations and checkoff organizations work together to help protect and advance corn growers’ interests.
